Swing Dancers, too long have we ignored the plight of those who cannot swing. Now is our chance to do something about it! I give you, ZERO TO SWING! We will bring swing to those who do not have it! Help us find the yearning, the willing! We will show them the joy that is swing dance!
Have you never danced before? Do you feel uncoordinated? Are wedding dances intimidating? WE WANT YOU. This workshop is for those who have absolutely NO dance experience. We will take you from Zero to Swing in one weekend! No-one will be left behind!
I challenge those who already dance to find their friends, coworkers, relatives, people they pass on the street and get them to the workshop. It takes enouragement to start dancing and you are the spark that will make it happen! And I'm not just looking at Huntsville. I'm looking at you too Nashville, Birmingham, Auburn, Chattanooga, and all of the other regional players.
We encourage all beginner and intermediate dancers to attend the beginner classes. This is your chance to give back to the community by helping beginners have a fun time while at the same time working on your basics. (No-one outgrows their swing-out.)
The last two classes of the day will be for the intermediate+ dancers! Each day there will be a moves class accessible to everyone as well as an intermediate teachers-choice class to end the day. Both of these classes will be targeted to allow intermediate dancers to make their dance more fun, more fancy, and more flavorful.
Saturday will be Lindy starting with a two hour complete, no-experience necessary, beginner lesson followed by two additional lessons. Sunday will follow the same schedule except for charleston. Pricing will be in the $30-$50 range with most of the dancing happening at the Flying Monkey. Check back as we add in pages for registration, the Schedule, Venues Pages, and teacher bios. Also watch for additional events to be added into the schedule as we get them lined up!
UPDATE 7/11: We've locked in our Friday dance! You can see it on the schedule but we'll be at Bridge Street dancing by the Carousel from 7:30 to 8:30. (If it cools down we'll keep going.) This is a magical way to start off the workshop weekend so we encourage EVERYONE to come!

UPDATE 7/5: We've confirmed the Sunday dance on Monte Sano. I'll get the specifics up on the Schedule as soon as I get the details from our event lead. Also, we're working to get a warm up dance for Friday night so keep both days on your calendar open!
