Update: Discounted online pre-registration is now open! General admission can purchase HERE.
UAH Students can purchase HERE for $10, (thanks to a donation from the UAH Dance Club)
All other students may purchase HERE.
All online registrations include a $1 service fee to offset online service costs. Student admissions require a student ID at the door. There are only a limited number of each pre-registration and all will be closed Dec 12th so register now!

Update: The Limited General Admission Pre-Registration has sold out. However, we now have the Main General registration open HERE for your registering pleasure! We still have a few Student and UAH Student positions left. We encourage students to register now to take advantage of the savings!. Student pre-registration is closed now as well however we have the main student registrations up for UAH students HERE and for all other students HERE.

Update: We have posted a limited number of table registrations! Each table registration includes four admissions as well as reserved table seating for four. As we expect table seats to be limited, this is your best chance to be guaronteed a table seat. You guys reserve your table HERE. If you choose to pay by check, please mail checks so that they arrive by Dec 27th to ensure your reservation.

Update: Just wanted to remind everyone that, while you will still be able to purchase tickets at the door, online discounted admissions will end December 25th so purchase now online!

WOW. We knew the dance was going to be good, but NO-ONE expect this! it was HUGE! We had as many people as we had at the Regional Meetup with Christabel and the Jons last December! (Speaking of which, she's coming back In July. Just sayin.) And yet the dance floor wasn't horribly crowded.

so... everyone came.... :-)

HSDS dance for Relay for Life

HSDS is supporting the relay for life this year with a lesson and dancing! We'll be holding a beginner lesson for the first hour with open dancing following after. The Relay for Life is a life-changing event that helps communities across the globe celebrate the lives of people who have battled cancer, remember loved ones lost, and fight back against the disease. It also helps raise funds for the American Cancer Society to help find a cure for cancer.

Music City Swing, Nashville Centennial Park Big Band Dance Series

Music City Swing (http://musiccityswing.com/) will be at the Nashville Centennial Park Event Shelter for a big band dance. Music City Swing is Nashville’s finest example of what a big band can be, proving that music from any era can swing. This 21-piece band plays music from the 40s through today in its own hard-swinging, big-sounding way.

There are many other band dances at centennial park throughout the summer, (though not necessarily all swing). See the "Big Band Dance Series" in the attached schedule of events.

Jump, Jive & Swing

Jump, Jive & Swing! is Nashville's original evening of Big Band Swing, sponsored by The Nashville 20/30 Christian Swing Dance Group and proceeds benefit Youth for Truth, a ministry & mentor program for at-risk urban young people. Dances are usually twice monthly, with lessons included. For more info, call Steve Willis 294-4858, or email swwillis@bellsouth.net.

There will normally be one or two lessons from 7 to 8:30 followed by dancing until 11.

Dancing at Bridge Street ft Brotha Ric

HSDS Presents a nice way to round out your Memorial Day Weekend Sunday. We'll be doing a joint thing with with Brotha Ric, our favorite authentic one man blues band. He'll be starting at 3:30. We'll be showing up en mass at 4:30, but nothing is keepin you from seein brotha ric a bit early! We'll dance to his original blues from 4:30 to 5:30.

At 5:30 we'll be switchin gears and pickin up some DJ'd music. Our great in-town DJs'll move you from 5:30 on through 7. We'll be at big square by maggie moo's. We'll have great music. We'll have great dancing. We'll have great DJs. And we will be blessed with the incredible brotha ric! What more could you ask for on a lazy Sunday afternoon!

Thats right! Back to back Pirates! Come and listen to some rip-roaring traditional jazz played by Huntsville's own Funky Pirates Jazz Band. 1920's attire is highly encouraged. Come check them out as they play the wild and raunchy music of early New Orleans!
