Our Friday night back dock concerts continue with Christabel and the Jons, performing from 6-9 pm. Free admission, donations happily accepted. Rain or Shine! This is your chance for some outside dancing and a preview of the upcoming Birmingham show!

Remember that you'll be dancing in the parking lot or grace. There won't be any floor for this one.

Christabel and the Jons are coming back to the Red Cat for another awesome BHAM JAM party. There will be a beginner swing lesson from 7:30-8:00, and then things will be swingin'' the rest of the evening. Christabel and the Jons are a Tennessee swing band with a beautiful sound. So whether you want to dance or not, come eat, drink, and be merry with us and enjoy the awesome music, people, food and drink at the Red Cat. Can't wait to see you all there!

Everyone's drop dead favorite folk swing band is back at the monkey, and with only a $5 cover! Christabel has been entranced the Huntsville scene since she first appeared here in 2008. Since then, Huntsville is graced by her presence only once or twice per year. Her and the Jons have graced the monkey with their presence so grace her with yours!

This unique concert is held on 35 Fridays per year in the art museum's Great Hall. The performance is scheduled from 6:00-8:30pm. Catered and with 2 cash bars, these non-smoking events are family friendly and great for dates. Admission is $8 for nonmembers, $4 for members and students, except where noted otherwise. Free for 17 years and under.

UPDATE 3:
We're in luck! Hearing of our plight, Rick Jobe and Tuxedo Junction of have agreed to serenade you tonight! We'll save the DJ's for another day because the band is back! (It may not be the same band, but we know how you love live music!)

UPDATE 2:
All of our love and prayers go out to Christa in the hopes that she recovers soon. In the mean time, we've gotten some great DJs to fill in! Huy Huynh has graciously offered as well as the ever lovely Danielle B!

And, in a wonderful surprise, Corey Manke, down here teaching the balboa workshop, has agreed to DJ as well! This will be the best chance you'll get to practice that balboa!

While nothing is quite like Christabel and the Jons, we're definitely lucky with the quality of the DJ'ing. And as with all DJ dances, the prices go down! It'll only be $7 for general admission and $5 for students!

Hi y'all. I'm very sorry that I have to cancel our performance tonight at the Flying Monkey due to the fact that I've completely lost my voice. What started as a sinus infection has turned into full-blown laryngitis. The dance will still go on with a DJ, so come and dance and swing out and have a grand old time.

Our next show in Huntsville will be our big Christmas show at the Flying Monkey on December 16. It's all Christmas music, staged like "Prairie Home Companion" or an old-time television holiday special. We're bringing 3 actors from Knoxville with us to add to the fun. We'll also have our new CD with us, "The Christmas Album."

Again I'm very sorry, have a fun Saturday night and I hope we see you next month at the Christmas show.

Our favorite Christable is dropping by Birmingham for a concert this weekend! Christabel and the Jons is a southern swing band based in east Tennessee that blends familiar standards with modern vintage sounding originals. Their music is acoustic and colorful, a blend of Appalachian mountain music and vintage swing. The group saunters and sways together with ease. Lead singer Christa DeCicco steals hearts with her come-hither delivery and charismatic stage performance. Her songwriting is heartfelt and nostalgic, and her distinctive, sultry voice brings it all home.

Come out and swing with us at our monthly dance! We are excited to host Christabel and the Jons, a fabulous and famious band from Knoxville. They are defined by their folksy swing designed perfectly for swing dancers.

Christa DeChico and her band have headlined multi workshops including KLX and Lindy Focus. They're music is starting to resondate in a big way in the US so see them now while we can still get them in Huntsville!
