The Crimson Tide Ballroom Dancers (CTBD) will be hosting Patton James & the Syncromatics Saturday, August 27.

This is a chance for the regional swing community to visit the University of Alabama (at Tuscaloosa). This isn't a group we hang out with much so it's a great chance to get to know some more of your fellow regional dancers!

The Birmingham Swing Dancers present Patton James & the Synchromatics, a rocking swing band from Nashville, TN. From the melancholy sounds reminiscent of a young Sinatra to the high energy Rockin' Jump Blues of the 1940's, this band has it all. Get out and see them July 22nd at the Kelly Ingram VFW Post 668 in Birmingham!

The Huntsville Ballroom Dance Club will have Patton James to celebrate their 18th anniversary. Patton always makes dances fun and the Ballroom Dance Club is always a welcoming environment. While it won't all be swing, most of what Patton James plays is swingable so we recommend you get out to celebrate!

(While I think Patton will go on at 8, I believe there is a ballroom dance lesson at 7 prior to the dance.)

I rarely put dances that aren't exclusively swing on the calendar, but both The Dance Club and Patton James have always been huge supporters of the dance scene in Huntsville. Many dancers have gotten their start there. Come out and celebrate the first 17 years and many more to come. Check out the attached flier for more information.

The Birmingham Swing Dancers invite you to a swing dance on Friday, February 26 at the Fultondale Friendship Hall, 1024 Old Walker Chapel Road, Fultondale from 8:00 – 11:00 pm. Music by Patton James & the Synchromatics, a modern jump blues, rocking swing band from Nashville, Tennessee. From the melancholy sounds reminiscent of a YOUNG SINATRA to the high energy ROCKIN' JUMP BLUES of the 1940's, this band has it all. Admission is $11 for BSD members, $13 for non-members. Casual attire. Light snacks, soft drinks, water and ice are furnished. No alcohol or smoking allowed.

As some of you may know, Carolyn Harrell Bong, an avid dancer passed away recently after losing her battle with cancer. In her memory, the Ballroom Dance Club of Huntsville has organized a dance with Patton James to benefit the American Cancer Society.

Please plan to come remember Carolyn, support the American Cancer Society, and enjoy a great time with Patton James, (and maybe work on your fast lindy a bit).
