Hal Beach will be DJ'ing a swing dance at Gee's Place Saturday, January 21st. There will be most for all swing dancers including East Coast, West Coast, Shag, Bop, Lindy, and Blues. Between the Jan 14th HSDS dance, The 21st Gee's Place dance, the 28th KCDC dance, and the Feb 4th HSDS dance, you can actually dance four weeks strait! It doesn't happen often in Huntsville so take advantage! See the attached flyer for details.

Gee’s will host a West Coast Swing dance every Thursday night starting next Thursday (01/12/12), DJ’d by Patrick Moise. Dancing from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm. Admission charge is $5.00. Wednesday night Gee’s will have the usual west coast swing class taught by Stephane Schneider from 6:30-8:30pm. If you don’t know the west coast swing now is the time to come on Wednesday and learn the west coast so you can dance the night away on Thursday night. Also get ready for a big west coast swing workshop on February 11th.

We have Brian Wong from Chicago scheduled to be here for private lessons throughout the weekend, and he will teach a West Coast Swing workshop before the dance.

So, this Wednesday, 16 June, we will be shagging 6:30-8:30 pm at the Brahan Spring Recreation Center. The rec center is the white building located behind the Senior Center (Drake Avenue) at 3770 Ivy Avenue. Easiest access is to turn off Drake, North, and it will be on the left just after you pass the Senior Center.

After I left Hog Wild last week about 8 p.m. to go see my new granddaughter in B'ham, Betty told Hal we would no longer be able to use Hog Wild as our venue on Wednesday evenings. The legitimate concern is that they were not taking in enough revenue from us. ("Lessons are free, spend money at the bar.")

Unfortunately, we were given no warning. We'll not be able to meet there tonight, but Hal has arranged that we can meet tonight at the Eagle's Club. See you there at 6:30.

For those who don't know me, on Nov. 14th, 2009 after attending a dance venue, my twin and I were in a horrible car accident which resulted in losing my beautiful, sweet, Melody. In her honor, I am hosting a weekend of nothing but dancing..She truly had a passion for dance, and as long as we dance, we will have MELODY in our hearts! So LET"S DANCE!
