Tips for Bands Playing for Swing Dancers

We love live band music! If you are new to playing for dancers, these tips will hopefully take some of the mystery out of what dancers want. Follow these and you should be able to step into the dance and have a floor full of people respond to your music!

This page will serve as the chapter head for pages about swing scenes, what they do, and how they do it. HSDS spends a large amount of time thinking about what we do and how we could do it better. We want to share that content with other scenes as well as give other scenes the opportunity to read it and let us know if we could improve it. Recently we've been adding more actual content to the website. To this point, you've had to search for what you wanted to find. While that isn't bad, I'd like to make it a bit more structured. By following the links below, you should be able see what content is available without really having to search for it. It will start out with very little content, however, over time that will increase.
