Oh, and just to make sure everyone can enjoy it, we have two EXCELLENT teachers to do the beginner lesson. Huy Huynh and Danielle Knight will be holding one hell of a lesson to kick off one hell of a dance!

Solomon Douglas is a jazz pianist and bandleader, whose various bands have played at more than fifty exchanges, camps, workshops, and other events in North America, Asia, and Australia in the past ten years. His experience as a swing dancer and dance instructor gives him an understanding unique among musicians of the music that swing dancers and blues dancers like to dance to!

Solomon Douglas will be teaching an intermediate lindy hop workshop before entertaining us at the HSDS Dance. He's come all the way to Huntsville from Seattle so this is your best chance this year to get some west coast instruction! The workshop will focus on musicality and making the music happen in your dance. Solomon is a swing rockstar, as an artist, a musician, and a dancer. Come get some!

Solomon Douglas is BACK! Solomon plays everywhere and would normally be impossible for a small scene like us to get if he didn't love us so much! This is your chance to show that we love him too and appreciate him coming out of his way =). We're setting up a workshop with him so that everyone in Huntsville benefits from the swing dance secrets he brings us from his Seattle hometown as well as from around the world. And after the workshop he'll be anchoring one of the best dances of the year at the Flying Monkey! Believe it or not this is Solomon's first time at the Monkey and it's going to be incredible It's very rare for swing dance rockstars like Solomon to grace us so plan on coming out to show him your love!
