Megan Adair Mini-Workshop Recap

Thank you to the HSDS core members who came out for the intermediate skill share this week with our special guest Megan Adair. For those who don't know Megan, she has been teaching swing for longer than many of the huntsville dancers have been dancing. She's an excellent blues dancer, particularly in her Jukin and Ballroom/Struttin blues. And she can move her hips like no-one's business!

Just an update on the Intermediate Skill Share the HSDS Core Members do every Wednesday. It's going very well. The group that performed the Tranky Doo at bridge street has been learning it at the skill share (along with another 4 or 5 people who weren't available to perform). We've also been working on a bunch of other things such as footwork, speed exercises, sharing moves, watching ourselves dance, etc. We're also getting in a lot of simple dance time.

HSDS Core Members - Reserving Floor Time

HSDS Core Members, starting in June, may reserve floor time to practice, take privates (supply your own teacher), etc. To reserve time:

  1. Check the Reservation Availability Calendar to see the blocks of time open for reservation.
  2. Check the Reservation Calendar to make sure no-one has booked the time you want already. (Note, people can leave their reservations off the calendar. So this step is not a definitiveness step.)

HSDS Core Membership - Intermediate Swing Dance in Huntsville

For the last few months, the Huntsville Swing Dance Society has received a lot of requests for intermediate swing dance oportunities in Huntsville. We've spent a lot of time thinking about how to provide this and now have a great solution!

The Dance
HSDS will be renting floor time for experienced dancers to dance the way THEY want to! We will be starting off with two times:
