This is a high energy fast paced class for experienced Lindy Hoppers. We’ll dive into complex moves and the techniques to take dancing from great to WOW! This is not class for the faint of heart, or those who don’t want to work hard. Drop-ins are welcome.

Note: Dancers need to be comfortable with swingouts and charleston at a variety of tempos. If you aren’t certain if this class will be right for you, please come early (or to Tim & Sarah’s Moves and Technique Class on Wednesdays) and the teachers will evaluate your dancing.

Hal Beach will be DJ'ing a swing dance at Gee's Place Saturday, January 21st. There will be most for all swing dancers including East Coast, West Coast, Shag, Bop, Lindy, and Blues. Between the Jan 14th HSDS dance, The 21st Gee's Place dance, the 28th KCDC dance, and the Feb 4th HSDS dance, you can actually dance four weeks strait! It doesn't happen often in Huntsville so take advantage! See the attached flyer for details.

KCDC will be holding a swing dance January 28th. If you need your dance fix, this is your chance. Snacks and beverages are provided. All swing dancers of every ability level are welcome! Those taking the Wednesday KCDC lesson are especially encouraged to attend and practice their new skills.

Dana Dafner and Joe O'Niel will be teaching beginner lindy hop lessons with help from Jennifer Nye at KCDC in January. Each month they will be working on core swing dances such as Lindy hop, eastern swing, single hustle and charleston. The class will branch out into introductory balboa, west coast, tripple hustle and much more as the year progresses. If Wednesday is your day for dance, check out her beginner lessons.

Musicality for Dancers

This class will focus on practical ways to be musical with your dancing including the structure of swing music. This class is for the intermediate or above dancer who is already familiar with one of the swing dances – Charleston, lindy hop or balboa. Drop-in’s are accepted.

Cost: $40 for the 4 week series (with online registration) or $45 at the door/$15 per class

Pricing:

$10.00 for 1 class/ $35.00 for 4 classes

$18.00 for a couple/ $65.00 for 4 classes as a couple

There is a $5.00 floor fee for practice time if you do not attend the classes.

Huy's starting lessons back up with the new year. January will be a chance shore up your solid 6 count swing along with some new moves. February is time to add in lindy hop. In March we'll look back at the two months and compare the 6 count vs the 8 count swing. This will be the month that puts it all together!

Huy may be the best lindy lead in town. His rock solid basics, wonderful musicality, and great moves make him the perfect place to improve your dance!
