This was the first time Microwave Dave and the Nukes have played an HSDS event and there is absolutely no way it will be the last! The dance was the absolutely perfect mix of dancers, costumes, blues, Microwave Dave, energy, and Flying Monkey.
We had a TON of people out including a huge number for the lesson. Huy and Briana gave an excellent blues lesson covering almost every genre of blues dance, all in an hour!
This weekend was an incredible warmup for Blues Masquerade next weekend! Everyone had such an incredible time!
The weekend started out with Rocket City Jazz Orchestra and the Four Star Orchestra battling it out at Bridge Street. A bunch of dancers came out and we couldn't have asked for better music or a more beautiful night! There is nothing quite like dancing to a big band under the stars!
Matt Barron is DJing again at Ammendment XXI and he's agreed to give us some blues to satisfy your late night desires on the first of or two dance weekends. For those who went to Blues Muse in Philly this is your chance to continue your experience. For those who wanted to go to Philly but couldn't, you can get your blues warm up as well before the Blues Masquerade.

As part of the Blues Masquerade with Microwave Dave, we'll be having a blues dance competition! This is for beginners and intermediates. We'll announce a specific format for it in the coming days (probably by Thursday), but we wanted to let you know! If you have ever danced any blues we highly encourage you to take part! To help give you the motivation, we'll be giving away blues Albums to the winners so they can keep their blues moving after the dance stops! Check back at the Event Page for details and we'll see you at the dance!
Wear Halloween costume if you would like or casual attire is fine. Light snacks (does not include beverages) provided. Great wooden dance floor. Reasonably priced bar. No outside drinks allowed. No smoking.

We've arranged to take advantage of some of this nice, cool, fall weather and do some bridge street dancing! There is nothing quite as beautiful as dancing outside at the carousel at Bridgestreet Town Centre. Come out for a relaxing dance (probably followed by some dancer socializing). There will be music, friends, dances and general jubilation! This is also your warm up for Blues Masquerade with Microwave Dave which will be one of the hottest dances of the the year!
Saturday, October 22nd in front of the Monaco Theater at bridge street, the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra and the Four Star Jazz Orchestra(the AMC Jazz Band), will be battling it out for your amusement! This is your chance to enjoy some wonderful outdoor dancing in a beautiful place. Enjoy the band dancing at Bridge Street Saturday and come back Sunday for the HSDS DJ dance at the carousel.
