Zane Young and Michelle Tipton will be teaching an eight week beginning WCS class at UAH University Fitness Center on Wednesday nights - starting Sept. 8th. Each class is a 1 hour long and begins at 6:30pm.

They will share many great dance tips they have learned over the years with an emphais on social dancing.

Class is $10 per visit or you can purchase a $80 punch card good for 10 classes. If you are a member of the University Fitness Center at UAH - the class is free!

Below is a table of the dances for 2010. Please note, this is our initial scheduling and does not include performers yet. As we add workshops, weekends, and special dances, this list will change.

The March dance is tentative but will likely also include a beginner workshop for those people who want to get into dancing but can't take progressive lessons.

And the Halloween band is the Rocket City Jazz Orchestra! Check back for more later, but this will definitely be a costume dance. Check out the pictures from previous years to get an idea. This is always one of the funnest of the year!

What makes a blues dance magical? A great song, an inspiring follow, and a receptive lead. Blues Muse is a workshop weekend dedicated to bringing out the muse in every follow, and teaching leads to appreciate and collaborate with their partner.

To achieve these goals, we've invited four renowned Muses: Mike Legett (Philadelphia), Karissa Lightsmith (Portland, OR), Abby Kunnecke (Portland, OR) and Carsie Blanton (Philadelphia).

We'll dance the night away with East Coast, Lindy Hop, Blues, Balboa, Charleston, and the all-time favorite THRILLER performance.

There will be a 45 minute East Coast lesson starting at 7 pm (free with purchase of a Dance of the Dead ticket). Social dancing will start at 8 pm.
