Jump, Jive & Swing! is Nashville's original evening of Big Band Swing, sponsored by The Nashville 20/30 Christian Swing Dance Group and proceeds benefit Youth for Truth, a ministry & mentor program for at-risk urban young people. There will normally be one or two lessons from 7 to 8:30 followed by dancing until 11.

The band has been a highlight of the Huntsville night scene for many years. Rudy, who sang with the Drifters at one time, along with Emily Moore give performances that are professional, nostalgic, full of energy and unsurpassed in quality. They keep the dance floor hopping with classic rock, R& and current hits.

The Old City Buskers is a band of swing dancers and they truely proved it. It's probably the first time we've had a live band play our Tranky-Doo and definitely the first time we've had a live band play Communication by Slim and Slam. The skill of these guys is growing by leaps and bounds! They are quickly stepping up the ladder of HSDS bands.
And it wouldn't be a dance without dancers, and there were a TON of them! The dance floor stayed full the entire dance. EVERYONE found something they could enjoy dancing to =). In fact, our dances are starting to get so big we're actually looking at ways to expand the dancible area. Having so many dancers you have to make room for all of them: I must admit, it's a good problem to have!
This is a high energy fast paced class for experienced Lindy Hoppers. We’ll dive into complex moves and the techniques to take dancing from great to WOW! This is not class for the faint of heart, or those who don’t want to work hard. Note: Dancers need to be comfortable with swingouts and charleston at a variety of tempos. If you aren’t certain if this class will be right for you, please come early so Tim & Sarah can evaluate your dancing.

Students who take Beginner Swing and dancers comfortable with East Coast Swing will be ready for our Beginner Lindy Hop class with Tim and Sarah in April. Beginner Lindy Hop continues with the triple step, more work on lead-follow partner connection, additional six count moves, and adds the energetic eight count swingout that is so fun to dance and looks great on the dance floor!
