Jump, Jive & Swing! is Nashville's original evening of Big Band Swing, sponsored by The Nashville 20/30 Christian Swing Dance Group and proceeds benefit Youth for Truth, a ministry & mentor program for at-risk urban young people. Dances are usually twice monthly, with lessons included. For more info, call Steve Willis 294-4858, or email swwillis@bellsouth.net.

There will normally be one or two lessons from 7 to 8:30 followed by dancing until 11.

Repeats every month on January, February, March, April, May, September, October, November, December on the first Saturday and on the third Saturday until Fri May 31 2013 .

West Coast Swing Workshop

Ever wanted to learn the smooth, playful rhythms of West Coast Swing dance? This Saturday is your chance! Stèphane Schneider, local west coast connoisseur, will be teaching three hour-long classes to get everyone familiar with this very social dance. And when the classes are over, we'll take an hour to just enjoy what we have learned!

Everything starts at 12:00, so be there a few minutes early to get ready!

FREE to UAH Students!! -- Bring a current student ID.

$10 requested donation for anybody else! Invite your friends!

UAH Tired Of Winter Dance

Are you tired of ice on your windshield and wearing heavy coats everywhere? Well then don't stand for it! Come dance the night away with your favorite Hawaiian shirts, hula skirts, and sun dresses! We'll enjoy a little summer fun in the dead of winter!

A beginner lesson will be held at 7 PM, and the dance will start at 8 PM! No partner needed!

January Wrap Up

Man you guys are good! We figured we'd plan a nice, simple, quiet dance and you turned it into a thing. It didn't hurt that Marshal killed it laying down an awesome set. Big thanks to him for coming down, making the music happen, and not holding the service at the Steak and Shake against us.

But really, thanks to YOU. Normally we expect DJ dances to be a bit slower. This one wasn't! We had close to a hundred people there. We also had multiple other scenes represent including Nashville, Knoxville, Cookeville, Birmingham and that one guy from Austin who always comes. Overall, we couldn't have asked for a better dance.

And remember, our next dance is coming up FAST! (Feb 4th) It's a Sadie Hawkins Dance so it's the girl's job to ask the guys out onto the floor!

And there's more that's happened in January other than the dance. For starters, we now have new bylaws. Big thanks to Amber, Briana, and the rest of the HSDS board for making them happen.

NSDF Intermediate/Advanced Lindy Hop - Special Venue

This is a high energy fast paced class for experienced Lindy Hoppers. We’ll dive into complex moves and the techniques to take dancing from great to WOW! This is not class for the faint of heart, or those who don’t want to work hard. Drop-ins are welcome.

Note: Dancers need to be comfortable with swingouts and charleston at a variety of tempos. If you aren’t certain if this class will be right for you, please come early (or to Tim & Sarah’s Moves and Technique Class on Wednesdays) and the teachers will evaluate your dancing.

Taught by Tim & Sarah Munsell.
