Join a phenomenal gathering of instructors, live music, DJs and dancers from across the country and beyond! Beantown Camp is designed as an all-inclusive vacation—a dance immersion. It is amazing what a week can do for your dancing and your spirit! For those who would like to attend but are not able to do the complete experience, there are multiple options to choose from.
Started by Tonya Morris (Surface at the time), Camp Jitterbug began as a much smaller event called Jitterbug Weekend in May 2000 with Tip & Holly and Minn & Corina teaching in Ballard, WA. We had a great response and dancers were eager to start learning from nationally known dancers. We continued holding Jitterbug Weekends for many years every few months...these JBW's featured one or two couples.
Is this the Mile High Blues Festival? Doesn’t that happen in August?
The Mile High Blues Exchange is a blues dancing festival, and it happens each year at the end of March. The Mile High Blues Festival is a blues music festival. And it does happen in August. That website is at www.milehighbluesfestival.com. And while we dig what they’re doing, we’re not them. (Please note this if you are a band trying to book yourself into the Festival.)
After an overwhelmingly positive response last year at Hawkeye Swing Festival, we are proud to be back for our 7th year on the beautiful University of Iowa campus in Iowa City, IA.
Our goal is to inspire and create memorable experiences for dancers and musicians alike through opportunities to learn, perform, and compete. In 2012 we carry this goal forward by bringing you 3-days of dance experiences that include amazing live music, high energy competitions, high quality classes, and great opportunities to perform in front of hundreds of dancers from all over the world!

LINDYFEST 2012 is MARCH 15-18th
Welcome to Lindyfest 2012, Houston Swing Dance Society's 16th annual Lindy Hop workshop. Lindyfest is an intensive and fun lindy hop weekend workshop jammed packed with classes for all dance levels, soul sessions with living legends, hot performances and four endless nights of dancing. Lindyfest brings in hundreds of dancers from all across the globe to learn lindy hop from the masters and experience the excitement of Lindy Hop, all here in Houston.
