We're bringing Reuel Reis down to Huntsville to duplicate the DJ summit him and Corey Manke are doing in Nashville. Are you interested in DJing? Do you want to learn a bit more about how to get to the crowd? This your chance to learn a bit more. Hear about some of the tricks as well as the pitfalls of DJ'ing and get your questions answered. Both beginner and experienced DJs are welcome. Never DJ'd but want to? Come on out!

UPDATE 6/15: Due to a schedule conflict, we've moved this from Thursday, 6/17 to Thursday 7/22. It's about a month later but just as good!

On June 26, Corey Manke and Reuel Reis will the panelists of a DJ summit held at Corey's home. This provides an opportunity to talk about issues with DJing and hone your skills. Both beginning and experienced DJs are encouraged to attend.

Presentation by the panelists on DJ topics and Q&A from the audience. Novices and advanced DJs welcome.

3:30-5:00
DJ Summit Masters Class: This will be a personalized review of everyone's DJ material by the panelists. Novices from the first hour are free to stick around but are not required to submit music.

And we have crowned our DJ queen! Danielle Beardsley faced off head to head with seven other DJs, 3 head-to-head, and came out on top! This even with losing her computer the morning before the dance and having to DJ off of a loaner.

The live bands are taking a break and we're bringin back the DJ's! The DJ battle in January was probably the funnest dance we've had and this one will be just as good. Look for your Battle DJ winner as well as some other choice morels and maybe even a special appearance or two.

As always we'll have a beginner's lesson at 7 before the dance starts at 8 so if this is your first time, no worries! You won't be the only one!

We're going to start the new year off in an exciting way! We're going to have a battle of the DJ's. And not just your normal listen and vote for your favorite, we're going to do it head-to-head! Your favorite Huntsville DJ's will be facing off eliniation style for your votes with the winner going home with a Creative Xmod usb soundcard for DJ'ing and all the bragging rights! The competition is going to be heavy and your favorite DJ's going to need all the support they can get so come on out and show us who you like!

June is our chance to relax and have some fun with our favorite DJ'd music. We spend so much time dancing to so many great bands we don't always get a chance to enjoy all that music that's already out there.

Come on down and hear our favorite DJs put on the best collection of old and new tunes to entertain your evening! Also, this is your chance to practice what you learned at Huy and Tabitha's workshop! We look forward to seeing everyone at the Flying Monkey!

We'll also have a good beginner's lesson to kick off the night so no matter if your a dancing pro or a flat out beginner come on down!

T'ain't What You Do HSDS Workshop
To get ready for the dance, learn some of the social spice that shows up in every swing dance. Huy and Tabitha will be teaching a Workshop during the day on the 20th! They'll be teaching the Shim Sham, a swing line dance made famous by the late, great, Frankie Manning! In memory of Franky they'll also be teaching a class full of Frankie's favorite moves. They'll round out the workshop with a class on jam circles. Ever jumped into a jam circle or thought about it and not quite known what to do?
