Most of you probably know by now, the sad news is... Frankie Manning, the legendary "Father of the Lindy Hop" style of swing, born on May 26th, 1914, passed away today, April 27th, 2009. He was 94. Brought out of retirement in 1986, by Pasadena Ballroom Dance Assoc.'s Erin Stevens, (along with her first dance partner, Steven Mitchell), Manning became the best known, true ambassador of Swing Dance, travelling the globe with the selfless goal of spreading the joy of the Lindy Hop.
