Hey, Huntsville people, at the Dec 9th dance, we're going to also do a pot luck here. It'll be BYOB&F, Bring Your Own Bottle and Food. So bring your favorite snack with you to share! Out-of-towners, don't worry about it, we'll bring enough for everyone!
Man, what a great dance! I don't think we've ever had such a great mix of dancers. We had old and young, beginners and experienced, Huntsvillians and out-of-towners! It was one of our largest dancers ever if not the largest!
It may have taken a whole weekend but May even topped the outstanding April Smith dance! What an incredibly mash-up of dancing. We started on Miss Tess at the Monkey, worked our way through JoHo, the Knights, Christa, a Barron, and landed on the mountain with Rob Murphy.
Ok, a few things I kinda didn't put in the newsletter.
1. Huy and Tabitha are starting beginning lindy tonight at the UFC. (Yes, I know it's raining.) A lot of people have said they feel like their basics are a bit rusty. Here's your chance to practice them. While beginners are learning the basic, it's your chance to clean up your fundamentals with zero pressure. Also, if you have friends that want to start dancing, tell them to get out tonight. This is their chance to start at square 1.
What a Huge dance! We knew RCJO could bring people out and man did they ever! Over 100 people and so many for the beginner lesson we filled the floor! Thank you to Tabitha and Gabriel who gave an incredible lesson and to Paul Fryer who did an excellent job of DJ'ing the intermissions.
Blair Crimmins and The Hookers are a swanky sounding, dirty south kinda band based out of Atlanta, GA. Blair's raspy, dark sounding growls are bound to make you grind, groove, and drag. While his chunky sounding band will make you rock out with a swing out or some flailing Charleston kicks.
