FLEUR DE LINDY is no ordinary Lindy Exchange. How could it be? New Orleans is no ordinary city! You are invited to experience the beauty and culture of the birthplace of Jazz.

Dance parties feature live music and special performances. Additional treats include a dancer-led walking tour, the traditional Bourbon Street blowout, and Big Easy style good times.

Well, Huntsville was well represented at ATLX. I think we had about a dozen people there, many that have learned to lindy in Huntsville. I think everyone had an excellent time though I'll bet we're all worn out. Check out the photos on facebook or on Picasa.

  • 11:30pm-3:30am - Late night at Bamboo Studio

Saturday
Lessons and Dance at the Elk's Lodge

  • 10:30-11am - Registration
  • 11am-noon - Class 1: In the beginning there was Pure Baboa, and it was Good / Pure Balboa Basic & Breaks
  • 12:15-1:15pm - Class 2: Pure Balboa moves / Comearound, Side Step, Paddle Turns
  • 1:15-3pm - LUNCH BREAK
  • 3-4pm - Class 3: Beginning Bal-Swing / Lollies & Toss out

Student Admission: $45 $40 (with student ID)

PATTON JAMES and the SYNCHROMATICS

A five piece SWING band based out of Nashville, specializing in MODERN SWING MUSIC. Inspired by the original LAS VEGAS LOUNGE and JAZZ scene, Patton has given new life (along with a few new twists) to the almost lost style of performing.

From the melancholy sounds reminiscent of a YOUNG SINATRA to the high energy ROCKIN' JUMP BLUES of the 1940's, this band has it all. Enriched by strong vocals and catchy tunes, PATTON JAMES AND THE SYNCHROMATICS are truly the ones to watch.
