Update: Discounted online pre-registration is now open! General admission can purchase HERE.
UAH Students can purchase HERE for $10, (thanks to a donation from the UAH Dance Club)
All other students may purchase HERE.
All online registrations include a $1 service fee to offset online service costs. Student admissions require a student ID at the door. There are only a limited number of each pre-registration and all will be closed Dec 12th so register now!

Update: The Limited General Admission Pre-Registration has sold out. However, we now have the Main General registration open HERE for your registering pleasure! We still have a few Student and UAH Student positions left. We encourage students to register now to take advantage of the savings!. Student pre-registration is closed now as well however we have the main student registrations up for UAH students HERE and for all other students HERE.

Update: We have posted a limited number of table registrations! Each table registration includes four admissions as well as reserved table seating for four. As we expect table seats to be limited, this is your best chance to be guaronteed a table seat. You guys reserve your table HERE. If you choose to pay by check, please mail checks so that they arrive by Dec 27th to ensure your reservation.

Update: Just wanted to remind everyone that, while you will still be able to purchase tickets at the door, online discounted admissions will end December 25th so purchase now online!

Both Beginner and Beginner/Intermediate swing for Tuesday, January 5th is cancelled. A heating coil for the swimming pool burst over the dance room spilling water and coolant through the seeling and all over the room. They are in the process of cleaning up and we expect to be back at it again next Tuesday, (January 12th). See ya'll there!

New Years Eve Bash Recap

Thank you to everyone who came out to the New Years Eve Bash. It was an incredible event! We had more people at the lesson than would fit on the dance floor. Gabriel and Tabitha taught an excellent lesson and Rocket City Jazz Orchestra followed it up with four fantastic sets. I think I speak for Huntsville's swing dance community when I say that RCJO has made Huntsville a better place both to dance and just to enjoy the arts!

At sixteen, after years of jazz guitar lessons, Brian Setzer was doing a solo gig as the Rockabilly Rebel, which eventually expanded to incorporate other musicians. Setzer, redefined big band with an electric guitar lead in 1994 and has been pushing the limits ever since.

So this is our basement Christmas party for all you dancers and non-dancers. We'll have dancing in the basement, games, karaoke, food, drink, and lots of merriness! Please bring some kind of finger food, something typical from your Christmas past, whatever you'd like to drink and your favorite music if you want us to play it! Christabel and the Jons at the Metro Bistro

Our favorite Christable is dropping by Birmingham for a concert this weekend! Christabel and the Jons is a southern swing band based in east Tennessee that blends familiar standards with modern vintage sounding originals. Their music is acoustic and colorful, a blend of Appalachian mountain music and vintage swing. The group saunters and sways together with ease. Lead singer Christa DeCicco steals hearts with her come-hither delivery and charismatic stage performance. Her songwriting is heartfelt and nostalgic, and her distinctive, sultry voice brings it all home.

Dance Off That Holiday Feast

Dance off that Thanksgiving feast with the Birmingham Swing Dancers on Friday, November 27 at the Fultondale Friendship Hall, 1024 Old Walker Chapel Road, Fultondale from 8:00 – 11:00 pm.

Our holiday charity this year is the Church of the Reconciler who provide food, clothing and medical supplies to the homeless in Birmingham. The organization has requested large jars of peanut butter & jelly, bread, coffee, sugar, Tylenol, bandages, ointments, antacids, and peroxide. Please bring your donations to the dance, they appreciate your assistance.

Wear your favorite school colors.
