Students rarely get to dress fancy and treat someone to a nice dance. Let's warm up to Spring with a little Valentines extravagance! Dress in your finest and dance the night away! Bring a date, bring a friend, bring a stranger, bring yourself - just bring someone!

A beginner waltz or ballrooming blues lesson will be held at 7 PM, and the dance will start at 8 PM! No Partner needed! Have a preference? Let us know!

FREE to UAH Students!! -- Bring a current student ID.

$5* requested donation for anybody else!

Rocky Mountain Balboa Blowout

A weekend of Balboa, the Swing Era dance defined by its understated upper body movements and intricate footwork. "Rocky Bal" features world champion instructors, top notch competitions, performances, and live music by the world's best vintage swing bands. Denver boasts some of the world's best balboa instructors, but also attracts the best balboa instructors, competitors, and performers, bringing together dancers from all over the world who want to keep America's historical dance alive.

Spring always comes early in South Carolina. So here at the Palmetto Swing Dance Association, we're kicking it off with our fourth annual Swing Into Spring weekend. We're bringing in some incredible instructors and we've added lots of great dances and competitions to the event to make this Swing into Spring an experience not to miss.

The Spartan Exchange is a yearly swing exchange in Cleveland, Ohio. The exchange is located on Case Western Reserve University's campus, and takes place on the first weekend in February.

The biggest bands are showing up to play:

  • Boilermaker Jazz Band
  • Glenn Crytzer and his Syncopators
  • Solomon Douglas Quartet

NSDF Intermediate/Advanced Lindy Hop - Special Venue

This is a high energy fast paced class for experienced Lindy Hoppers. We’ll dive into complex moves and the techniques to take dancing from great to WOW! This is not class for the faint of heart, or those who don’t want to work hard. Drop-ins are welcome.

Note: Dancers need to be comfortable with swingouts and charleston at a variety of tempos. If you aren’t certain if this class will be right for you, please come early (or to Tim & Sarah’s Moves and Technique Class on Wednesdays) and the teachers will evaluate your dancing.

West Coast Weekly Dance

Gee’s will host a West Coast Swing dance every Thursday night starting next Thursday (01/12/12), DJ’d by Patrick Moise. Dancing from 7:00pm to 10:00 pm. Admission charge is $5.00. Wednesday night Gee’s will have the usual west coast swing class taught by Stephane Schneider from 6:30-8:30pm. If you don’t know the west coast swing now is the time to come on Wednesday and learn the west coast so you can dance the night away on Thursday night. Also get ready for a big west coast swing workshop on February 11th.

Enter the Blues is back! On Feb 17-19, 2012, the southeast welcomes blues dancers from all over the country to enjoy a taste of southern tradition, culture, and music. Teachers include Damon Stone & Heidi Fite, Joe Demers & Mike Legett, and Carsie Blanton & Jon Darvill. We will also offer 4 different competitions and have both DJs and live music.
