HSDS September Stomp Dance: NEED HELP!
Unfortunately, or September band has had to cancel. However, this is your chance to hear what YOU want! So who is your favorite DJ? The lesson is going to be beginner blues so keep that in mind! Either reply to this email or in the facebook thread with the DJs you'd like to hear and we'll try and make it happen!

Dana Dafner is organizing a group from Huntsville to go to Atlanta Varsity Showdown (http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/483). If a large group goes we get a discount so work with Dana (reply to this and we'll put you in touch) and be part of the group! Danielle Knight is also helping so lets make sure Huntsville represents!

Accountant/lawyer
HSDS is looking for an accountant/lawyer to volunteer some time and help us with our non-profit paperwork. It's time for us to do some refreshes on the paperwork and so we need someone who knows what they're doing. Think you can help? Just let us know!

HSDS also may have Board and/or Event Coordinator vacancies in the future. If you would be interested in being considered for either, please let us know. It's the HSDS members that keep us going!

What: HSDS September Stomp DJ Dance
When: Sept 18, 8pm-11pm (beginner lesson @ 7)
Where: Flying Monkey Arts Center, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville, AL
Cost: $10 General, $7 Student
As mentioned above, we need your votes for who you'd like to see DJ'ing the September dance! You can reply to this email or leave a note on facebook. I've got a feeling Danielle will be near the top but there are a lot of DJ's in and around Huntsville and we need at least 3 so get your votes in! The DJ dances always have a more intimate feeling thanks to DJs who make sure the music matches the dancers so break in the fall at the FlyMo Sept 18th! And keep an eye to see if your favorite DJs make the cut.

South Side Swing is starting up Tuesday August 24! Don't like driving all the way across town for your swing? Been itching to dance again Tuesday nights? IT IS YOUR TIME!
The lessons, taught by Jason and Danielle Knight, will be set up in 4 week series and the intermediate classes WILL build on each other so it will be harder to walk in later on in the game. The beginner lessons will also change but while some may be a little more difficult a first time beginner will still be able to walk in.

What: Battle of the Library All-stars!
When: October 10
Where: Huntsville Downtown Library
Cost: Free!
It's that time again to prove your dance prowess! Last year, Kansas and Gabriel took home the coveted title out of more than a dozen participants. Now's your chance to prove your dance skill! Kansas is working with the library to pick the competitors this year so if you've got a partner and think you can show the other dancers in town who's boss, this is your chance! Anyone can win so choose your parter and put your hat in the ring. Either contact Kansas or reply to this and we'll set you up!
