The Meat:
When Erica Roberts and Huy Huyhn started teaching lindy at the UAH Fitness Center, they were the only ones in town. Now, three years later, the lessons that Tabitha and Gabriel continued as Huy and Erica moved on are coming to an end. Now, however there are lessons Monday (http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/434), Wednesday (http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/442), and Thursday (http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/429) in Huntsville, and there are multiple reoccuring regional lessons as well (http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/32, http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/283, http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/431, and http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/node/432). And that doesn't even count the unique workshops and events that go on regularly. So, even though you can no longer go to the Tuesday UFC lessons, keep learning, keep dancing, and keep enjoying swing in the rocket city. It's your involvement in lessons, dances, workshops, and other events that keeps swing alive!

With the summer heat bearing down on us it's time for some nice cool summer swing. The live bands are taking a break and we're bringin back the DJ's! Look for your Battle DJ winner as well as some other choice DJs and maybe even a special appearance or two. We'll be cooling the night off with blues music the last hour so don't leave early or you'll miss the best part! As always we'll have a beginner's lesson at 7 before the dance starts at 8 so if this is your first time, no worries! You won't be the only one!

Do you like dancing slow and smooth? Do you like low light and soulful jazz? Do you like your dances with a huge side of speakeasy atmosphere? Then this is the dance for you. Get out of the heat of the summer and step back in time to the prohibition era. Blues is the right dance and Amendment 21 is the right bar. It'll come together with music from a couple of Huntsvilles best DJs. Dress classy and join us early or stay late as you desire. The lights will be low but the blues will be smoldering!

Feeling a bit more big band? Or just want something to do before stopping by Amendment 21? Well moondust is at the monkey! They've been working hard to add to their repertoire and now they want to show it off. They're looking for all the concert goers, dancers and general music lovers to come help them celebrate at the monkey. So if Big Bands are your thing, make moondust at the monkey your weekend! (And stop by Amendment 21 afterwards to cool off!)
