The Charlotte swing dancing scene has been growing over the last few years, so it was high time we hosted our very own Lindy exchange, and this year marks our first year! QCLX is a Charlotte swing dance community event and is hosted this year by Lovin' Lindy.
Why Queen City Lindy Exchange?
Charlotte was named for Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III of England, when the city was founded in 1769, and is thus known as "The Queen City."
Why "Strike It Rich"?
In 1799, when a 17-pound gold nugget was found in the area, Charlotte drew many in the nation's first gold rush! Today, Charlotte is the second leading financial center in the country and is home to Bank of America and Wachovia (now Wells Fargo).
