What: HSDS Membership
When: Jan 2010 - Dec 2010
Cost: $40
We've finally figured out a good way to keep HSDS Membership rosters, just like the old days! Membership registration can be done online (in the 'Store' tab under 'Memberships') or at any of the dances. Membership for the year is $40 and includes reserved seating by the stage, priorty registration to HSDS events, and additional benefits. There won't be a door price discount for membership, however your dues will go to help the HSDS board put on better events, book better bands, and bring in better instructors! Without your help we won't be able to make 2010 the best year yet so sign up today!

What: HSDS January Battle of the DJs!
When: Jan 23, 8pm-11pm (beginner lesson @ 7)
Where: Flying Monkey Arts Center, 2211 Seminole Drive, Huntsville, AL
Cost: $10 General, $7 Student
We're going to start the new year off in an exciting way! We're going to have a battle of the DJ's. And not just your normal, listen and vote for your favorite, battle; we're going to do it head-to-head! Your favorite Huntsville DJ's will be facing off eliniation style for your votes with the winner going home with a Xmod usb soundcard for DJ'ing and all the bragging rights! The competition is going to be heavy and your favorite DJ's going to need all the support they can get so come on out and show us who you like!

We have something very special this spring. Jason and Danielle Knight are bringing a regional event (previously held in Knoxville, TN) to Huntsville! That Rhythm Thing brings in national instructors Peter Strom and Naomi Uyama to teach and will bring dancers from all over the eastern US to learn, practice, and swing. You can register at the website and get the much cheaper $60 for a limited time so I suggest registering ASAP. We are extremely privileged to have this regional event hosted in Huntsville so I wanted to make sure to get it on everyone's calendars NOW!
