The end of 2009 in going to be the best swing Huntsville has ever seen!
We're kicking it off with our favorite band! Christabel and the Jons!

Where: Flying Monkey Arts Center
Christabel and the Jons are a national band with their roots in the south. They've just finished up a trip up the east coast and have played all the major southeast swing scenes including Atlanta (ATLX) and Knoxville (KLX). Their music will draw you to the floor and make your feet want to move. Also, October means COSTUME DANCE! The UAH dance club makes it possible to get UAH students in free so please let your UAH dance club officers know how much you like it!
On top of that, we have Cookeville trained dancers Jason and Danielle Knight teaching our Rock that Lindy Hop Workshop!

And the biggest bang of the fall? Grass Roots Rhythm!

(http://www.huntsvilleswingdance.org/grr) This is a HUGE workshop with teachers you'd normally be driving an entire day to see! Michael and Jaya Gamble of Lindy Focus fame are coming to Huntsville. Over two days they'll be teaching you all the groove you can handle. Michael and Jaya will be putting that sweet sweet Rhythm and Musicality into your dance!
This workshop is designed to not only blow the mind of our long time dancers, (both lindy and triple-step) but also to be accessible to those people who have just been indoctrinated. We'll have the exchange atmosphere going with the in town dancers as well as our out-of-town friends coming over for the amazing lessons. So if you've been taking Tabitha or Reuel's beginning classes, this is your chance to enjoy that exchange atmosphere all the other dancers talk about without even leaving town and in an event designed with you in mind.
