Christabel and the Jons ~ Announcing our dream tour to the Virgin Islands! We’ve been in contact with the radio station WVGN for several years, and it’s finally paid off with 2 weeks worth of shows in the tropics. Now, who’s coming with us? The only catch about this tour is we have to buy our own plane tickets. No easy feat for a poor swing band. Join us at the Glowing Body to help get ourselves up in the air.

Sweetheart Swing Dance

It's that time of the year! Love is in the air and Cookeville Swing Dance Society is putting their dance shoes on for their annual Sweetheart Swing Dance and you're invited!!

Come join us for 4 hours of dancing with a Live Band, free lesson, a Jack and Jill competition, dance performance, and prize winning contests.

A free basic East Coast Lesson will be given from 7-8pm with dancing afterwards. So if you don't know how to dance don't worry about it. Come out for our lesson and we'll have you dancing all night long.

UAH Dance Club Winter Dance

UAH will be holding their winter dance Friday, January 22nd from 8-10:30 at the UAH university center.

Before the dance, Reuel Reis will teach a beginner lindy hop lesson from 6:45 to 7:45.

The lesson/dance is free for UAH students and $10 for non-students.

Queen City Lindy Exchange

The Charlotte swing dancing scene has been growing over the last few years, so it was high time we hosted our very own Lindy exchange, and this year marks our first year! QCLX is a Charlotte swing dance community event and is hosted this year by Lovin' Lindy.

Why Queen City Lindy Exchange?
Charlotte was named for Queen Charlotte, wife of King George III of England, when the city was founded in 1769, and is thus known as "The Queen City."

Why "Strike It Rich"?

Following the beginner, lesson, Tabitha will be teaching an intermediate lesson. Intermediate lessons are for anyone from those who have just learned basic swing to those who regularly dance out of town. This is your chance to learn new things, hoan your skills, and practice what you know.

In January we will be focusing on Charleston transitions. While we all know at least one way to get in and out of charleston or from one charleston style to another, this class is aimed at diversifying how you go between styles and making you comfortable using all of them.

Beginner Lessons at UAH Fitness Center

Tabitha will be back teaching true beginner swing dance lessons at the UAH Fitness Center this spring. These lessons are for anyone who has never danced swing and wants to start from scratch or who knows how to dance but wants to improve their basics, this is the lesson for you! We will start with no required knowledge and, by the end of the class, have you comfortably dancing at social dances.
