Save This Date. The weekend for the 5th and final Cumberland Shuffle has been picked!
It's hard to believe we've been celebrating old-timeyness for so long, already. While this will also be the last year of the event known officially as Cumberland Shuffle, we're not skimping on anything. We're hard at work to make sure we all go out with a bang--stay tuned for announcements about our exciting teachers, music, and everything else that makes the event so much fun!

But what you're probably interested in is the Funky Pirates! They'll be kicking things off at Brahan Park I'm not sure what options there'll be for dancing, but the Pirates are always fun no matter whats goin on. This will be at the pavillion on the corner of Drake and Ivy at Brahan Spring park in Huntsville. They'll be followed by the Main Street Blues Band, TVJS AllStars, and the Rick Ward Group. Come out and support local jazz!

This month we're pleased to welcome the Bonaventure Quartet back to Fernbank! An Atlanta-favorite, Bonaventure always pleases the crowd by providing up-tempo danceable tunes.
This month I'm also super excited to welcome Huntsville's own DJ John Coogan. A popular dancer and DJ in Huntsville, John is sure to keep the floor hot during every band-break.
In addition to a great band and an awesome DJ, I'm pleased to welcome our guest instructor for June, Mr. Russ Ruddell. Russ will be offering a beginner Balboa lesson in addition to the regular East-Coast lesson during the band breaks.

The Twickenham Jazz and Swing band will be playing 40's swing music in the Glenn Miller tradition. The library has invited us out to dance so make a little time in your week for some fun at the library!

Welbourne Traditional Jazz Music & Dance Camp is six days of traditional jazz music & dance instruction located in the Virginia countryside. Guests will learn from many of the core members of the current jazz music and dance resurgence in New Orleans, while relaxing on a 520 acre property housing a historic bed & breakfast dating back to the civil war era.

Come and join us for the 12th Knoxville Lindy Exchange! In celebration of our impending doom at the end of this year, we have to ask: how do you want to go?
We figure if the world is ending, there's only one thing to do: dance! Come and get your lindy on with us this September (and save a bit of your blues groove for late nights)!
It's that time again! Dancing with the Library Stars! This is a chance for dancers who know a some swing to get out and show off a bit. It's a really mellow competition and every year we like to focus on the intermediate dancers (rather than letting Huy and Tabitha win every time). If you are able to get on the floor at a HSDS dance, you are able to get on the floor at Library Stars!
